#1. Ash No. 2: Died at his home, Thursday night, Mr. Westfall. He has been sick for some time. He leaves a wife, three daughters and two sons to mourn his death. #2. Washburn Prairie News: Mr. Westfall of near Washburn, was laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery, Saturday. The bereaved family have our sympathy. Research Note: William Lewis Westfall - Son of William Clark Westfall and Sarah Thompson. Donna's Note: William Westfall, son of Cornelius Westfall lived in the Washburn area in 1900, and so since his was the only family living there - it is assumed that this was William who died. It appears also that he has no stone. - He married Permillia Ann Withers on Feb. 8, 1877 in Lawrence Co., MO. He was a Civil War Veteran. E 6th MO Cav. Enlisted on Feb. 28, 1862 in Cassville, MO and discharged on Mar. 2, 1865 in Baton Rouge, LA. In 1905, he was living in the National Home for disabled volunteer soldiers in Leavenworth, KS. Permillia filed for his pension on May 29, 1907. She died in 1916 and is buried at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Topeka, KS with 2 sons and a daughter. |
