Text | Miss Ina, 15 year old daughter of Mr and Mrs. Geo. Weatherly, died at their home 3 1/4 miles southwest of town Tuesday morning of peritonitis. Funeral services were conducted at the Exeter Baptist Church Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The remains were laid to rest in Maplewood cemetery at that place. Just verging on womanhood, buoyant with good health, with lots of friends who loved her, on account of her many splendid qualities, she was called to that far away land and no doubt today is basking the sunlight of her Great Redeemer. Research Note by Sandra Long Riley sriley@slic.com - I believe that Ina Weatherly was the daughter of George W. and Malissa (Packwood) Weatherly. They lived in Exeter MO (he is the older brother of my g-grandfather Charles Sterling Weatherly). Ina's name appears on the 1910 census for Exeter MO. Her age is listed at 14. (I can only assume that see died in 1911). It would make sense that she is buried at Maplewood as there is a Weatherly plot there and many Weahterly's buried there. Donna Cooper's Research Note: She is listed in the Maplewood Cemetery records with a birth year of 1895 and a death date of 1910. |
