On November 27, we buried Mrs. Cordula Washik. She was the mother of Joe and Mike Washik, Mrs. Theopel Friday, Mrs. Joe Chesleski and Mrs. Joe Korkoski. She was one of the pioneer settlers of this part of the county. Research Note: Her death certificate reads that her name was Quasdula Washick. No birth date but 82 years old making her birth year abt. 1835. 1900 census has her birth date as Feb. 1840. Her maiden name as Mogick/Mjodjik, parents born Poland. Mike Washick of Pierce City, MO was the informant. Listed at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery as Kordula (Mjodjik) Waszyk. |
