Obit For Michael Wardlow
Headline A GOOD MAN PASSES AWAY LAST MONDAY
Text Another old time and highly respected citizen of Barry county, has been called to that country from whose bourne no traveler returns. He had the confidence and respect of all that had the pleasure of his acquaintance. His honorableness was perceptible in his every act in life and his word was his bond.

Michael Wardlow was born in Illinois, January 31, 1839, and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wardlow, who moved to Benton county Ark., in about 1851, and after the civil war, he moved to Ash Township, Barry County, Mo., and on April 8, 1871, he and Miss Rebecca Hamilton were married and to this union four children were born, three sons and one daughter who are: Mrs. Mary Stout of Pryor Creek, Okla., W.F. Wardlow of near Cassville, and Mont Wardlow of Seligman; one son having died 18 years ago.

He left three brothers and one sister, who are: Wm. Wardlow of Brightwater, Ark., Ira Wardlow of Avoca Ark., and Jack Wardlow of Jane, Arkansas.
He died January 5, 1925, at the home of his son, Wm. Wardlow, near Cassville, aged 85 years, 11 months and 26 days.

Mrs. Wardlow died in June 1919, and Mr. Wardlow has lived with his children, since her death. He left 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Rev. J.T. Brattin of this city, conducted the funeral services and the remains were conveyed to Seligman and interred in the New Salem cemetery, where a large number of old acquaintances assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to this splendid man.

He had never united with any church, but stated that all was well with him. The straight forward life that he had lived, was an index to his splendid character and disposition.
