James Soloman Walden, son of Will and Sally Wyrick Walden, was born at Washburn, Mo., October 5, 1884 and departed this life June 19, 1951 at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 14 days.

He was united in marriage May 3, 1908 to Laura Bell Young. To this union were born 11 chidlren. One daughter, Opal, precede him in death.

Surviving besides his wife, are four daughters, Mary Phillips, Thelma Amos, Betty Cope and Norma Lee Kaiden, all of Springfield: six sons Elvis, Fresno Calif.; Abe and Albert, Washburn; Everett, Cassville; . J. S and Franklin D. of the home; also 11 grandchildrens, his mother, Mrs. Sally Walden, Emporia, Kans.; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Knowles, Berryville, Ark.; Mrs. Ethel Woods and Mrs. Alvah Elliott, Wichita, Kans.; three brothers, Wayne, watts, Okla.; Joe and Albert, Seligman.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tim Larkin at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Seligman Baptist Church of which he was member. Music was furnished by the quartet composed of Mrs. Lowery, Mrs. Larkin, J.M. W. Alexander, and J. M. Alexander, accompanied by Mrs. Haneke. Interment was in the Seligman Cemetery under direction of the Koon Funeral Home.
