Text | Funeral services for James S. Walden of Seligman will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Seligman Baptist church. The Rev. Tim Larkin will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Koon funeral home of Cassville. Mr. Walden, 66, died Tuesday evening in a Eureka Springs, Ark., hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Barry county. Survivors include his widow, Laura of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Phillips, Mrs. Thelma Amos, Mrs. Betty Cope and Miss Norma Lee Walden, all of Springfield; six sons, Elvis of Fresno, Cal., Everett of Cassville, Abe and Albert of Washburn, Mo., and J. S. and Franklin D. of the home; his mother, Mrs. Sally Walden of Emporia, Kan.; four sisters; three brothers; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Research Note: James S. "Jimmy Dry" was married to Laura Belle Young on May 2, 1909 in Beaver, Carroll County, AR. His parents were William S. and Sally (Wyrick) Walden. |
