Obit For Lucy E. (Reynolds) Varner
Headline In Memoriam
Text In Memory of Sister Lucy Varner who died January 5, 1910 after a long and continue illness.

She was born, March 28, 1861 and professed faith in Christ in October 1877 and united the Washburn Prairie Baptist Church and continued a member until her death.

She leaves a husband and three children to mourn her departure, also a host of other relatives and friends. She talked of her final home and assured her relatives and friends that she was ready and willing to go. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the bereaved family and friends and we express our feeling of loss and sympathy to the sorrowing family.

Her name will no more appear upon our church roll and for she has gone to that bright and beautiful beyond.

It's but the fading of a beautiful flower that blossoms again in that beautiful home or the sinking of a bright star that rises and shines elsewhere. For her it was to cast away her earthy robes and on the resurrection morn to put on her robes of righteousness and to awake surprised with that gladsome greeting of loved ones on the other shore.

We miss thee from our home dear mother, we miss thee from thy place, a shadow o'er our life is cast, we miss the sunshine of thy face. We miss thy kind and willing hand, thy fond and earnest care, our home is dark without thee, we miss thee everywhere.

The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Bro. Chas. Vanzandt after which she was laid to rest in the Washburn Prairie cemetery to await the resurrection morn.
