| Text | Ash News: Died - at 2:35 a.m., Matilda Van Zandt, wife of James S. Van Zandt, after a protracted illness which she bore with fortitude. She ever confined in her savior. The deceased was born in Miller County, MO, Aug 15, 1837 and came to Benton Co., Ark., in 1846, where she remained until her death. She followed her Lord and Master by obeying His commandants and May 16, 1855, buried in baptism and united with the Christian Church. Her remains were interred in the old family cemetery known as Scott Family cemetery, on the 28th, after funeral service were conducted by Eld. L. L. Smith. |
