Text | On Monday, April 10, death claimed the spirit of Cornelius J. Utter, a farmer living a mile and a half northeast of this city. Mr. Utter had been in poor health for several years and finally succumbed to an attack of pneumonia. Cornelius Julian Utter was born near Franklin, Indiana, April 7, 1844. Was married to Addaline Parker in March 1874. To this union were born two children, Luella Jane and Willis Clinton, who survive him. He was married to Louisa Harboust March 14, 1879. To this union were born five children, Ida May, Nora Elva and Oscar, who preceded him to the Great Beyond. Clara Belva and Henry Irvin still survive him, also his wife Louisa Utter. He became a member of the Christian church in Indiana in the year 1879. He was a member of the Christian church at Rocky Comfort at death, which occurred on his 80th. Birthday April 7, 1924. Funeral services were conducted at Rocky Comfort Tuesday by Rev. J. S. McQueen and the body buried in the Rocky Comfort cemetery. Research Note: This paper reads that Monday was April 10th and the paper was printed on April 11th, which was given as Friday. |
