Text | Mrs. Mary Jane Turner, widow of the late Andrew Jackson Turner, died at her home north of Cassville Sunday, Dec. 18, age 68 years. Mrs. Turner was born in Stone County but the family had lived in this county for many years. Funeral services were held Wed. afternoon Dec. 21, at the Fairview Baptist Church and burial was made in the Sparks Cemetery, with W. D. Koon undertakers in charge. She was a daughter of Mary Jane and Abner Garrison. She was united in marriage to A. J. Turner Aug. 29, 1900. To this union six children were born. Surviving of the immediate family are two sons; Alvin Turner and Efton Turner, both of Cassville: Mrs. Ira Stockton of Monett; one brother, Sigle Garrison of Columbus, KS and one sister, Mrs. Lee Clifton of Caldwell, ID; and eleven grand-children. She professed faith in Christ a number of years ago and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago. Rev. O. M. Ennis of this city conducted the funeral services. Research Note: Born: Aug. 27, 1870 - Died Dec. 19, 1938 Cause of death was suicide by carbolic acid. |
