Text | Francis Marion
Trowbridge was born at Swan Creek, Gallia County, Ohio, Feb. 2, 1844. He served
one and one half years in the Federal army in the Civil War. He removed to Lucas
County, Iowa, in 1867 and engaged in the practice of medicine for 12 years until
his failing health caused him to retire and move to a more congenial climate of
the south. He married Miss Celia A. Turner of La Grange, Lucas County, Iowa, May
6, 1876. He lived on a farm in Carroll County, Ark., for 18 years then moving to Washburn, MO, in 1901 where he lived until his death Feb. 4, 1911. Mr. Trowbridge leaves behind a wife, two sons, Roy and Harold, and a daughter Mrs. Clara Cox of Pasadena, California. In his youth he united with M. E. Church but for a number of years has not been identified with any organization. He found great comfort in his Bible, which he perused daily. Funeral services were conducted Monday at noon by Rev. Welch and the remains laid to rest in Prairie Cemetery. [poem follows] A friend. |
