Text | One of the saddest
occurrences that ever befell this township was the suicide of Mrs. Lon
Thurman last Sunday morning while the other members of the family were at
Sunday School. The day before she sent her little girl to J. C. Snider's store and get a 2 oz bottle of carbolic acid and the next morning she told her husband and the children and go to Sunday school, which he did not suspecting anything and the first member of the family who returned found his mother dead with an empty acid bottle near her. We understand that she left a note stating that ill health had driven her to his desperate act. She was an estimable lady and we all sympathize with the family and mourn her loss. |
