Text | # 1. Isaac Francis Thomas
died March 10th at Purdy. He was born in Alabama on Oct. 16, 1850 and came to
Barry County at the age of 5. He married Miss Sarah L. Wilks on May 18th, 1879. She and 2 sons survive. Burial was in Calton Cemetery. #2. Died, Thursday, March 10, 1898, Isaac Francis Thomas, of 4 miles northeast of Purdy of congestion of the stomach, age 47 years, 4 months and 25 days. Isaac F. Thomas was born in Alabama, Oct. 15, 1859. At the age of 5 years he came with his parents to Barry County and settled on Little Flat Creek. May 18, 1897, he was married to Sarah L. Wilks, who with two sons survives him. A number of years ago he professed religion and was baptized by Rev. J. W. Ennes. His last illness was brief. On Monday night previous to his decease he was out fox hunting. At 3 o'clock the next morning he was taken ill and at 6:29 p.m., Thursday, passed away. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the house by Rev. Carrol Fly assisted by Rev. L. A. Smith, after which the Odd Fellows of Purdy took the remains to Calton Cemetery where they were interred. |
