Obit For Nolan Wesley Thomas

Text Nolan Wesley Thomas, age 70, Monett, died Tuesday, December 18, at Cox Monett Hospital.

Mr. Thomas was born November 8, 1937 at Seligman. He was a graduate of Monett High School and earned a degree at Central Missouri State. He was Chief of Police for the Monett Police Department for 25 years, and he conducted training at numerous police schools. He taught photography class and was past president of the Monett Lions Club. He was a bus driver for Viking Trailways in Joplin, and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Monett.

He married Nancy Alexander on October 2, 1959.

Survivors include three sons, of Monett, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, of Binghampton, New York; his mother Carthage; a sister of Monett, and eight grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 22, at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Monett. Burial will follow, under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, at the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
