Text | Mrs. Jane Templeton of Marionville stuck a butcher knife, through her
heart Friday morning, Oct. 6th, the cause unknown. Jane was a daughter of Young and Matilda Henson of near Flat Creek. She was a good woman and loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Baptist Church, her body was brought to Carney for burial. The funeral services were conducted by Bro. Mell Coones. She leaves a sorrowing husband, three children, an aged father, five brothers and one sister besides a host of relatives and fiends to mourn her departure. May God comfort all in this time of trouble. Research Note: In 1880 the family of Young W. Henson and his wife Matilda E. [Hilton] were living in Mountain Twp., of Barry County. Jane was given as age 5. Her siblings were listed as Mathew, Thomas, James, Absalom, Mary, and Ida Mae. In Mountain Twp., Barry Co., MO, 1900 Jane was given as Jane Templeton, the wife of James A. Templeton. Her birth date was given as June 1875, age 24, born in MO. He was born in PA, Sept 1867. Tillie, a daughter was listed as 4/12 born Jan of 1900 in MO. Living in the household was James' mother, Sarah P. Templeton, born June 1833, age 66, born in PA. Both Jane and James were listed as having been married 2 times. |
