Mrs. Sutherland was born March 16, 1931, in Cassville, the daughter of James Elree and Tena Velena Hilburn. She was a lifelong Cassville resident, owned and operated several restaurants in the Cassville area, and was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Allen Sparks of Cassville; two brothers, Lavern Hilburn of Exeter and Claude Hilburn of Cassville; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Junior Hilburn, Clifford Hilburn, Herman Hilburn, and Lee Hilburn; and three sisters, Wilma Hilburn, Gladys Hilburn, and Bernice Sparks. Services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, May 11, at Williamson Chapel in Cassville with Rev. Milford Baker officiating. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery in Cassville under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 10, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. |
