Text | Another old time citizen has obeyed the summons and his spirit has made its ascension to a loftier abode where bliss is eternal and the street of the Holy City is paved with love there to abide and listen to the enchantment of heavenly music. C. C. Summey was born May 4th 1850, and died April 18th 1923, aged 73 years. On May 11, 1871, he and Miss Eliza Pendergraft were married and six daughters and three sons were born to this union. All were present at the funeral except Mrs. Lucy Arnhart of Joplin. Mr. Summery was born in Boone County, Mo., May 4, 1850, and has lived in the vicinity of Seligman since a small boy. He was a member of the Christian Church and prayed for his time to come, that he might pass over. Rev Monte Taylor conducted the funeral services at the Seligman Church and the remains were interned in the cemetery at that place. |
