Text | Dianna Sue (Hancock) Strother, 66, of Purdy, Missouri, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 11, 2013, at her home.
Dianna was born March 19, 1946, to John "Jack" and Lena (Grundy) Hancock. She was united in marriage June 14, 1968, at Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri, to Donald Lee Strother, who survives. Also surviving are: three brothers, Jimmy and Janice Hancock, of Springfield, Missouri, Tommy and Rosemary Hancock, of Springfield, Missouri, and Donnie and Diane Hancock, of Atlantic Beach, Florida; two sisters, Nora and Steve Buchheit, of Springfield, Missouri, and Marilyn and James Lucas, of Springfield, Missouri; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Leatrice Strother, of Purdy, Missouri, James and Susan Strother, of Joplin, Missouri, and Mike and Jill Strother, of Eagle Rock, Missouri. She is also survived by many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friend, Jeannie Lupe, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri. As well as many good friends. Preceding her in death were her parents. Dianna grew up in Springfield, Missouri, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1964. She was employed as a clerk at Fasco Industries in Cassville, Missouri, for thirty-six years, retiring in March, 2012. Dianna was a member of the Red Hat Society known as the Classy Red Hatters. Dianna was a friend to any stray cat or dog which came her way and her devotion to this cause became a life-long commitment. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri. Pastor Jack Betts conducted the services. |
