Obit For Johnnie Albert Stone

Text Johnnie Albert Stone, 75, of Washburn, died at 12:30 a.m. February 5 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon following a long illness.

Mr. Stone was born September 18, 1924, in Harden, Colorado, the son of Albert James and Victoria (Heronima) Stone. He was an Army veteran of World War II and worked in construction of grain elevators. He was a member of the Irwin-Easley Post 118 Cassville American Legion and the Church of Christ in Washburn, and a past member of Eagles Lodge.

He married Frances Pauline Armstrong in 1949, and she preceded him in death on March 11, 1972. He married Evelyn Daniels on June 16, 1972, in Prattville, Alabama.

Survivors include two sons, two daughters, two step-sons, one step-daughter, two brothers, Robert Stone of Clinton, Utah, and James Stone of San Bernardino, California; one sister, Dorothy Cox of Fielding, Utah; 17 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Williamson Chapel in Cassville with Ken West, minister, officiating. Graveside military services will be at Washburn Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville.
