He was born Oct. 4, 1907 at Jenkins, the son of Obe and Phebe Ann Thomas Stockton. He married Elsie Edna Mills April 2, 1929 at Cassville. She died Jan. 2, 1968. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son: J. D. Stockton; three brothers, Roy, Alvin, and Willie; and one sister, Alice. Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mary Lou Heinrich, Hunter, Okla. and Delores Ruscha, Jenkins; a daughter-in-law, Joan Stockton, Cassville; a sister, Lucille MCKinsey, Grandview; six grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. Mr. Stockton was a lifelong resident of the Jenkins area. He was a self-employed cattle farmer most of his life. He was of the Methodist faith. Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 29 in Clio Cemetery, Jenkins, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Lonnie Stockton conducted the services. |
