Text | Norman D. Stockton, 62, of Monett, died at 6:45 a.m. February 5 at his home following a long illness. Mr. Stockton was born March 29, 1938, in Purdy. He was a lifelong area resident, a Navy veteran, and a Protestant. He owned and operated Stockton Heating and Air Conditioning in Monett. He married Clara Ledbetter Woodruff on September 9, 1989, in Monett. Additional survivors include three sons, all of Monett; two step-sons, of Monett and of Kansas City; one step-daughter, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his mother, Tracy Faye Crossland Stockton of Purdy; two brothers, G. B. Stockton, Jr. and Gayle Stockton, both of Purdy; one sister, Billie Gasperson of Pratt, Kansas; 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, General Buena Stockton in 1978; and one brother, Owen Stockton in 1979. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. F. C. Lasiter officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
