Text | Ray Stewart, 69, developer of the Stewart Heights Addition in northern Cassville where he resided, was pronounced dead on arrival at 3 p.m. Monday at South Barry County Hospital here after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Stewart was born Nov. 25, 1905, in Washburn. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cassville, and was a retired carpenter. He was the owner of the Purina Feed Store in Washburn for several years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Audrey LaVon Stewart; two sons; a daughter; three brothers, Leon Stewart, Washburn, Ronald Stewart, Cassville and Oren Stewart, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena McNabb and Mrs. Ruby Rogers, both of Exeter; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Funeral Home, Cassville. The Rev. Paul Watson and the Rev. Perry Hickman will officiate. Burial will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity church of one’s choice. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service.
