| Text | Ava (Bowers) Stewart, 97, of Wheaton, died at 9:44 a.m. May 17 at South Barry County Hospital in Cassville. Mrs. Stewart was born March 17, 1903, in McDonald County, the daughter of Noah and Kate (Wolfenbarger) Bowers. She had lived in Wheaton since 1946, was a homemaker, and a member of the United Methodist Church in Wheaton. She married Tom Stewart on August 31, 1929, in Neosho, and he preceded her in death June 4, 1972. Survivors include one daughter, one grandchild, of Wheaton; two great grandchildren, and two nieces. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, May 20, at the United Methodist Church in Wheaton. Burial will be in Union Cemetery under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home of Wheaton. |
