Jess Willard Stephens, 87, of Cassville, died yesterday, December 29, at St. John's Hospital-Cassville. Mr. Stephens was born October 9, 1916, in Garfield, Arkansas, the son of George and Laura (Mahurin) Stephens. He was a cattle farmer and was a member of Maple Grove Church of Christ in Seligman. He married Alice Louise Mars on January 24, 1939, in Pineville, and she preceded him in death May 12, 1985. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. There are no immediate survivors. Services will be 10 a.m. tomorrow, December 31, at Maple Grove Church of Christ in Seligman. Burial will be in Dent Cemetery in Seligman under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, December 30, at the funeral home. |
