Text | Services for Ivan Eugene Stephens, 62, rural Washburn, who died at 11:25 p.m. Monday at Rogers, Ark. Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Axley's Culver Funeral Home, Cassville. The Rev. Hugh Higgs and the Rev. Gene Latshaw will officiate. Burial will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Stephens, a sawmill owner and operator, was born May 21, 1915, and was a lifelong resident of the Washburn area. He was a member of the Mission Baptist Church near Washburn. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Thelma (Babe) Stephens; five sons; two daughters; four brothers, Elmer Stephens, Sperry, Okla., Leon Stephens and Onza Stephens, both of Washburn, and Joe Stephens, Drexel, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Vesta Weathers, Sperry, Okla., Mrs. Emily Privet, Washburn, Ms. Avo Pie, Granby, Mo., and Mrs. Thelma Anderson, Bakersfield, Calif., and two grandchildren.
