Text | Born April 30, 1926, in Cassville, Missouri, passed away June 8, 2008 at the age of 82, in Folsom, California. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was a proud WW II Navy submarine veteran and retired as an Electrician's Mate Senior Chief. He served on the DD450 USS O'Bannon in Gaudel Canel and went into the submarine service in 1943 where he served the rest of the war on the Submarine Piper #409. After the war he was an Electrical Instructor at the U. S. Naval Training Center in San Diego, California. In retirement, he was active in the Sacramento U. S. Submarine Veterans Association, World War II, until he passed into the "eternal partrol". He is survived by his devoted wife, sons, grandchildren and families and step-children from the Seattle area. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His Memorial Service will be held at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, 5839 Dewey Drive, Citrus Heights, California, 95621, on Saturday, June 21,2008 at 10:00 a.m. Published in the Sacramento Bee from 6/18/2008 - 6/20/2008 |
