Text | Vivian Callie (Black) Sparkman, 100, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Washburn, died Saturday, May 22 in Regional Nursing Center of Bryant, Arkansas. Mrs. Sparkman was born January 8, 1899 in Washburn, the daughter of John and Flora (Frazier) Black. Mrs. Sparkman spent most of her life in the Washburn area. In 1988 she went to live with her daughter in Little Rock, Arkansas, but continued to maintain her home at Washburn, visiting there frequently. On June 18, 1918 she was married to Matt Sparkman, who preceded her in death in 1977. Survivors include one daughter, of Little Rock, Arkansas; two grandsons, both of Little Rock, Arkansas; and two great-grandsons, both of Little Rock, Arkansas. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Carolyn; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Measel; three brothers and five sisters. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, May 27 in Washburn Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home of Cassville. |
