Text | Mary Kathleen Smith, 70, of Shell Knob, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield.
She was born Jan. 27, 1937, the daughter of Jesse Ernest and Evie Irona (Mize) Conner. She was united in marriage in Birmingham, AL, and her husband preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include; four brothers, Ernest Conner and his wife, Vivian, of Birmingham, AL, Jesse Conner and his wife, Jose, of Oklahoma, Ed Conner and Richard Conner and his wife, Nita, all of North Carolina and Kirk Conner of Birmingham, Alabama; three sisters, Margaret Ivey, of North Carolina, Ruth Evans and her husband, Larry, of Blue Springs, and Ola Erickson and her husband, Don, of Shell Knob. She received her education in Aliceville, AL, where she graduated from high school. She attended Birmingham Baptist College and then went on to become a registered nurse. She was employed with St. John's in Springfield several years. Eight years ago she moved from Mt. Vernon to Shell Knob. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Shell Knob. No services are planned. Her body has been cremated under direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Shell Knob. |
