Little Charles Smallwood, son of Mr. And Mrs. L. E. Smallwood of the Shoal Creek Community east of Wheaton, was stuck by an automobile Friday afternoon near the canning factory on Shoal Creek, and fatally injured. He lived only a few hours after being taken to Stella Hospital. Charles was about six years old. He was walking around a bystanding car when he was stuck by a car driven by a young woman, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Weaver who live near Wheaton. The Koon Funeral Services of Cassville who brought the body to Cassville where it was prepared for burial. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Exeter Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas VanZandt. Burial was in the Maplewood cemetery, the Koon undertaker in charge.
