| Text | Abstract - Margaret Arlene Singer, 79, of Monett, died at 6:30 a.m. August 26 at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield following a brief illness. Mrs. Singer was born October 17, 1920, in Monett, the daughter of John M. and Berta May (Hess) Elliott. She was a homemaker, a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Monett, and a member of Cox Monett Hospital Auxiliary and Presbyterian Church Circle. She married Lester Jacob Singer on January 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death April 9, 1990. Survivors include one son, of Eagle Rock; two daughters, of Monett and of Springfield; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, James Elliott. Services will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, August 29, at the First Presbyterian Church in Monett with Rev. Walter Hamer, Rev. Rick Withers, and Rev. Jerod Davis officiating. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, August 28, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. |
