Text | George Shoemaker, age about 70 years, dropped dead at his home near Madry about 10 o’clock Monday July 25. Heart failure is given as the cause. A neighbor family with a little child had stopped at the Shoemaker home for a short time and Mr. Shoemaker sat down on the door step to play with the little child when he fell over dead. Funeral services were held at the Clay Hill cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by a Methodist minister of Aurora. Interment was made in the cemetery at Clay Hill. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Ballay of Monett, and three sons: Ernest and Joshua who lives in Texas and Lloyd of near Madry. Research Note: Death Cert.
