| Text | Abstract Monett, Mo. – Jessie Elizabeth Shepherd, 86, died at 2:05 pm Thursday at the Aurora Community Hospital, Aurora, after a long illness. Mrs. Shepherd was born Feb. 16, 1903, in Clarkson community near Wentworth. She lived in Monett most of her life. She was a seamtress for Engineer Apparel Corp., retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She married James Q. Shepherd on Oct. 21, 1927, in Monett. He died July 24, 1974. Survivors include a son, two daughters, three sisters, four brothers, 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 am Monday at the Buchanan Funeral Home. The Rev. Glenn Dixon will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. |
