Text | William H. Shannon, a highly respected farmer living west of Washburn in Ash Township died suddenly Monday afternoon about 4:30 while in the field plowing corn. A son in the field with him and noticing something wrong with his father went to him. He died before he could be taken to a shade nearby. Mr. Shannon had been suffering with heart trouble for about four years. He was born in Covington, Ky. On May 5, 1863 but had been a resident of this county for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and a number of children. He was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Harrison Truhitte, Norman McNabb and Rev. Gould. He was also a member of the M. W. A. an Odd Fellows Lodge. Interment was made in the Washburn Prairie Cemetery by Blankenship and Barr. |
