Text | Died, Oct. 20, at 9 o'clock a. m. Mary Malita, daughter of M. Y. and C. E. Setzer, after suffering more than a year, at her father's home near Cassville. Malita was born in 1866 in Mockesville, NC, and professed religion in 1880 in united with the M. E. Church (South) in August, 1888, in which she lived until God took her to the church triumphant. "I am ready to die, my way is clear," and the evening of the 19th, she said: "I want you all to come; I want to embrace you while I know you all." One by one the family relatives were embraced by her the last time and she called each one of us by name and delivered her last message which, if complied with, will ultimate reunite us in heaven. Her remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends to the Cassville cemetery where the funeral services were conducted, after which her body was laid to rest beside her brother, James R., who proceed her in 1887. She leaves a fresh?, mother, two brothers and three sisters, together with many friends to mourn her loss. "Be ye also ready for in an hour as ye think not, the Son of Man commeth." E.W. McCracken. |
