Text | James C. Scott, 63, of Exeter, died at 11:14 a.m. February 7 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield following a brief illness. Mr. Scott was born January 17, 1937, in Stotts City, the son of W. O. and Maida Porter Scott. He was a 1955 graduate of Exeter High School. He worked at Jumping Jacks Shoe Company in Monett for a few years and then owned and operated Scotty's Insulation. He was a member of the Mill Street Church of Christ in Cassville. He married Jeannie F. Chappell on January 23, 1960, in Brownsville, Texas. Survivors include two sons, two brothers, two sisters and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Scott, Porter Scott, and Jewell Scott. Graveside services will 2 p.m. tomorrow, February 10, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter with Wayne Deffenbaugh, minister, officiating, under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Cassville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, February 9, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home. |
