| Text | Services for Joe Schell, 91, Pea Ridge, who died at 8:25 p.m. Monday at Bates Memorial Hospital, Bentonville, after a short illness, will be Friday at the Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge. The Rev,. Roy Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Schell was born March 10, 1888, in McDonald County, Mo., and resided in that area most of his life. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Schell, died in 1973. Survivors include a son; a daughter; a sister; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two-great-great-grandchildren. Research Note: His entire name was Joe Schell. He was not named Joseph and he had no middle name. He was the 16th child born to Philip and Jane (Bear) Schell. His mother and father (thru paternal grandmother) were both part Cherokee, and Joe's physical appearance showed that heritage. He was always a quiet man, while his wife, Sarah (Sarey) was quite talkative. Husband to Sarah Minerva McCool Schell. Father to Gretchen Edra Schell Hendrickson and Linous Clive Schell. He lived most of his life in McDonald County Missouri. Lived in California for a few years in the 1940s. His mailing address of Pea Ridge Arkansas, was given in his obituary, but he didn't live in Arkansas in 1979. Their home was on Highway E in McDonald County Missouri. |
