Text | Mrs. Edward W. Russey: Martha Jane Withers was born in Lawrence
County, Missouri, April 23, 1857 and departed this life at Monett, August
26, 1916. She was converted and united with the Mt. Olivet church thirty-two
years ago, and later moved to Monett, where she united with the First
Baptist Church. She lived a consistent Christian life, always read to do the
Master's work. She was married Jan. 1, 1890 to E. W. Russey. They were the parents of four sons and three daughters, all of whom are living. They are Frank Russey, of Boyero, Colo.; Andrew of San Antonio, Tex.; Edward Russey, of St. Louis; Mrs. Carrie Howard, of New York City; Arthur, Leta and Bessie Russey, of Monett. All will be present at their mother's funeral. Besides the devoted husband and children she is survived by three brothers, three sisters, other relatives and a multitude of friends. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. A. Todd. Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Monett Times |
