Text | #1. Leland "Lee" Rupp, 69, of Purdy, died at 8:40 a.m. January 27 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
Mr. Rupp was born March 1, 1931, in Monett, the son of Fred C. and Lucy S. Schad Rupp. He was a lifetime resident of the Monett and Purdy areas. He was a retired bus driver from the Purdy R-2 school district and worked several years as a milk hauler. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie near Purdy. He married Lorene Williams on June 10, 1942 Additional survivors include one son, of Purdy; one daughter, of Purdy; one brother, of Monett; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Rupp; one brother, Clarence Rupp; and one sister, Freda Rupp. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, January 30, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie with Rev. Erhard Wolf and Vicar John Roach officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, January 29, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the church. #2. Services for Leland "Lee" John Rupp, 69, of Purdy, who died January 27, were held at 2 p.m. yesterday, January 30, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie with Rev. E. W. Wolf and Vicar John Roach officiating. Music was provided by the congregation which sang Abide With Me and How Great Thou Art. Organist was Betty Meier. Casketbearers were Leroy Petlitzer, Mike Smith, Neal Rupp, Loren Williams, Wayne Rupp, and Don Pennell. Honorary casketbearers were Ron Gray, Esther Foster, Jerry Medlin, James Dent, and J. L. Daugherty. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett. |
