Text | Irene Royer, 90, of rural Purdy, died at 9:45 a.m. September 17 at Aurora Community Hospital. Mrs. Royer was born January 20, 1910, in Exeter, and was a daughter of Charles W. and Mary (Welde) Moore. She lived most of her life in the Purdy area. She was a homemaker and had been co-owner of MZD Cafe in Wheaton for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Group in Wheaton, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Wheaton and Cassville. She married Chester Boone Royer on July 28, 1928, and he preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by one son, John Royer; four brothers, Charles, Harry, Glenn, and Roy Moore; two sisters, Opal Ritter and Sophie Brock; and one grandchild Services will be 11 a.m. tomorrow, September 19, at the United Methodist Church in Wheaton with Rev. Roger McKee officiating. Burial will be in Muncie Cemetery in Wheaton under the direction of Wheaton Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today, September 18, at the funeral home. |
