Text | Sam Rose, son of John and
Emaline Rose, was born at Washburn, September 20, 1872, and departed this
life on May 28, 1945, at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Boman November 1, 1894 at Garfield, Ark. To this union was born eight children, Clarence Glenard Rose dying in infancy. He put his trust in God early in life, and lived a devoted Christian until death. He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Nancy Rose, and seven children, Mrs. Mary Dalton, Mrs. Belle Lawson of Washburn, and Mrs. Jetta Wilson of Seligman, Lemmie, Jeff, Johnnie and Nello all of Washburn; 36 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; 1 half-brother Geo. Rose, Washburn and 1 half-sister, Mrs. Sena Galyen, Seligman and a host of relatives and friends. He was sincere in all his dealings and was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the Mission Church Wednesday afternoon, May 30th, conducted by Rev. J. N. McNabb. Burial was made in the King Cemetery under direction of the Koon undertakers.
