Rose, 62, Washburn, Route 1, died at 6 a.m. last Wednesday at Cox Medical
Center in Springfield after a long illness. Mr. Rose was born Oct. 7, 1917, near Washburn. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Prairie Hill Baptist Church, west of Washburn. He married Florence Patterson on April 15, 1937 at Washburn. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Washburn; two daughters, both of Washburn; five brothers, Jim Rose, Washburn, Danny Rose, the state of Alaska, Denver Rose and Max Rose, both of Cassville, and C. S. Rose, Wichita, Kansas; four sisters, Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Hendrix, both of Washburn, Mrs. Mary Black, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Hopkins, Cassville; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Axley's Culver Chapel in Cassville. The Rev. E. L. Buch and the Rev. Oliver Thomas officiated. Burial was in King's Cemetery, south of Washburn. Pallbearers were Armon Banks, Bob Cantwell, Lewis Dalton, Gerald Haddock, Lawrence Jester and Ronald Stewart. Research Note: Lionel Reno Rose was a son of Lemma and Ola (Pippin) Rose. 1917-1980 |
