Text Phyllis Jean Rollins, age 75, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 21, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital, Cassville, Missouri.

She was born September 2, 1934, in Washburn, the daughter of Earl and Pearl (Day) Shipley. On May 25, 1966, in Covington, Louisiana, she was united in marriage to Aubrey Rollins, who preceded her in death on June 5, 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother.

Surviving relatives are two daughters, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, an aunt of Washburn and many special cousins.

Phyllis received her education at Washburn, graduating from Southwest High School. For several years she was employed as a secretary for Bob Mitchell at the Cassville Democrat Newspaper. She had also been activity director for Concordia Care Center for a while and secretary for the principal at Southwest. She loved music, writing and recording several of her own songs. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 27, 2009, in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Reverend Bob Neeley will conduct the services. Burial will be in Washburn Prairie Cemetery.
