Robert Roller, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Roller, was born near Seligman, Mo., Nov. 11, 1857 and died at his home Feb. 18, 1937. He was united in marriage to Dorthula Roller, Mar. 31,1884. To this union 13 children were born, two having preceded him in death. He is survived by his good wife and eleven children, who are Claud Roller, Mrs. Maud Henbest, Mrs. Presh Montgomery, Jim Roller, Mrs. Effie Ruddick, Mrs. Bonnie Arnhart, Mrs. Ora Frost, Basil, Early, Fay and Ray Roller. He leaves twenty-five grand children, eight great grand children, five brothers and two sisters. He united with the Big Springs Baptist Church, Dec. 3, 1907. He devoted his life to his family, community and friends. He was never too busy to give his time to aid those in sorrow and distress. His aim in life was to be of service to humanity and to be deserving the confidence and respect of all who knew him. One of the largest gatherings of neighbors and friends at the Community Building in Seligman were funeral service were held on Thursday afternoon, Feb. 18, 1937, by Chas. Vanzandt, gave evidence of the esteem in which he was held. Burial was in the New Salem Cemetery, under the direction of the Horine-Culver Funeral Service. The following grand sons acted as pall bearers: Paul Henbest, Harold Arnhart, Robert Roller, Joe Roller, Lige Frost and Denzil Roller. Music was furnished by the Seligman Singers. |
