Text | The Rev. Jimmie Dale Phillips Roller, 54, Marceline, Mo., former pastor of churches in the Kansas City area, died April 27, 1992, at the home. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Marceline Christian Church. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Orrick Christian Church in Ray County; burial in Riffe Cemetery, northwest of Orrick. Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Gowing Chapel, Orrick. Mr. Roller had been pastor of the First Christian Church of Marceline since December 1991. Earlier he was pastor of the Orrick Christian Church for three years. He also was pastor of the Dearborn United Methodist Church in Platte County; the Grace and Deer Park United Methodist churches in St. Joseph; and Methodist churches in Jasper, Liberal and Lamar in Missouri. He was a graduate of the St. Paul School of Theology. He attended Draughon Business College and Missouri Southern State College. He wrote articles and the book Parables For Daily Living. He owned a taxidermy study in St. Joseph and in Dearborn. He was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Ada Masonic Lodge in Orrick and was past president of the Orrick Lions Club. Mr. Roller was born in Monett, Mo. Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Des Moines, Iowa; his father, Joplin, Mo.; three daughters of Tulsa, Okla., Weir, Kan., and Miller, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Kansas City; and six grandchildren. |
