Obit For James Knox Polk Rodgers
Headline OLD TIME RESIDENT OF CORSICANA PASSES
Text James K. Rodgers, better known as Uncle Jim Rodgers was born April 3, 1846, near Corsicana, Mo., and died Monday morning June 24, 1929 at his home on the same place where he was born, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 21 days.

He was twice married and to these unions there were six boys and two girls. Of these, four boys were born to the first union and two boys and two girls were born to the second union. All were present except two, Min?? Cowherd, Camberi?lla, Cal., and Elmer Rodgers of Fairview, who was away and could not be located. Those present were: John, Jesse, Ed, Clarence, and Beutha Rodgers and Orpha Metz. There is but one sister surviving, Mrs. Sarah Overton of Wheaton.

He united with the Methodist Church when but a young man and was a constant believer in the Faith until death.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday, June 25 by Rev. Goodnight and interment made in the Corsicana Cemetery under the direction of Pogue’s Undertaking.
