Text | Funeral services for Joseph W. Robinson, 80 years old, who died Thursday morning at his home near Cassville, were held Sunday afternoon in the Culver Chapel. The Rev. Ab Edie and the Rev. Hugh Higgs officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
A long time resident of Cassville, Mr. Robinson came here with his parents from Tennessee when a small boy. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Cassville. Surviving are his wife Ester Robinson; a stepson Earl Vaughn of Cassville; three daughters, Mrs. Vernon Stubblefield and Mrs. Truman Allison of Wichita, and Mrs. Earl Corbin of Eagle Rock; a brother Tony (should be Pony) Robinson of Exeter, MO, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Research note: A photocopy of this obituary was sent to me by the Cassville Democrat. There was no date. Joseph W. Robinson's dates of birth and death and place of birth were taken from my family files. The 1860 Census for Hawkins Co., War Gap, TN spelled the last name Robinson but after the family came to Barry Co. MO, it changed to Robison. In the obit the name of Joseph W. Robison's brother is misspelled and should be Pony Robison. |
