May Roberts, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. M. H. Roberts of Golden died. She was buried in Clanton Cemetery. #2. Cassville Republican, Thursday, March 24, 1898 May, daughter of M. H. and Pauline Roberts, was born Feb. 24, 1890 and died Mar. 9 1898 at 6 o'clock p. m. She was 8 years and 13 days old, the baby of the family. Not only was she idolized by her parents, but by all who knew her. She was at church and Sunday School whenever she could be there and was a sweet little singer. None knew her but to love her. She leaves to mourn her departure, besides a hosts of friends and relatives, three sisters, and one brother, Florence, Dora, Emma, and Frank, and a kind father and affectionate mother. She was patient to the last and gently fell "asleep in the arms of Jesus". The funeral services were conducted by W. C. Wiley at the family residence at 2? o'clock Mar. 19, after which a host of friends followed the remains to the cemetery for interment. [a poem follows] |
