Text | Mrs. Bert Robbins died Friday, morning, August 1, at the home of her brother, Dr. Robert Harper, at Afton, Okla. Funeral services were held Sunday at New Salem church near Monett, conducted by Rev. Francis Goodnight. Interment was made in the Goodnight Cemetery. The deceased was a young woman of much intelligence and lovely Christian character. Her name before her marriage to Bert Robbins was Luella Harper. She taught school a number of years in Barry County and stood high in her profession. She was married in 1903. She was the mother of four daughters who survive her. She was ill for a time with tuberculosis. Six months before her death she left her little family with relatives and went to Afton, Okla., to receive medical treatment from her brother. The disease had too firm a hold, however and her brave fight for health was unrewarded. Dr. Harper, Mrs. Harper and Misses Clara and Margaret Harper were present at the funeral. |
