Text | Larry A. Robbins, 65, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012, at his home in Shell Knob. He was born on Oct. 20, 1946, son of Allen and Margaret Bates Robbins, in San Bernardino, Calif. At the age of 13, he and his family moved to Exeter where he graduated from Exeter High School in 1965. He worked for Glen Garrett as an engineer, owned and operated Ozark Sports Spot as well as the Star Marine, both in Cassville, and retired from the Barry County Sheriff's office in 2009. Before moving to Shell Knob from Springdale, Ark., he had lived in Monett and Wheaton. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Cassville.
Survivors include: his wife, Sallie Patton Robbins, whom he married on March 20, 1965, in Van Buren, Ark.; two daughters, Deanna Warner, and her fiancee, Mike McAbee, of Danville, Ala., and Susan Harper and her husband, Reiner, of Toronto, Canada; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene Sherman and her husband, Kenny, of Eagle Rock, and Barbara Berg and her husband, Bill, of Exeter; and one sister-in-law, Cheyrl Lyall, of Springdale, Ark. Graveside services were held Monday at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, with Pastor John Rose, Pastor Russell Bishop, and is son-in-law, Pastor Reiner Harper officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's and entrusted to the White Funeral Home, Cassville. |
