Text | Mary Rebecca Brown, daughter of the late W. D. and Alice (Bayless) Brown was born September 12, 1897, in Cassville and departed this life September 26, 1960 in Cassville at the age of 63 years and 17 days. She attended the Cassville schools, was graduated from the Cassville high school and attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield. She taught in the Barry county rural schools, the Cassville schools and the rural schools of Greene county a number of years before her retirement. On June 5, 1938 she was married to W. E. Robberson of Pierce City. They made their home in Pierce City until 1955 when they moved to a farm north of Cassville in the Merl’s Chapel community. She was active member of the Cassville Seventh Day Adventist church, having served as ____ and in other capacities. Her survivors are her husband, Bill, one sister, Mrs. Leo Robberson; one brother, Kenneth Brown, both of Cassville, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Mary Robberson was a loving and devoted Christian wife and sister and will be missed not only by her family, but by all who knew her. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon, October 1, in the Williamson Chapel in the Valley with Elder Norman Sharp, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church, officiating. Interment was made in the Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of Williamson Chapel in the Valley. |
